Out with the old, in with the new

It may be the off season but the 2014 season is fast approaching. With new technical regulations being put in place, teams must act quickly to ensure they finish on top when the Formula 1 circus arrives in Melbourne.

Coming off an incredible four consecutive championships, Infiniti Red Bull Racing are ready and raring to go for the new season to begin. With 13 wins and 24 podiums in the 2013 season there is definitely no stopping the Milton Keynes based team.

World Champions - Infinit Red Bull Racing
A number of technical changes are being introduced to the 2014 Formula 1 season. The main change is the introduction to the 1.6 litre V6 engines. With changes to KERS and front/rear wing designs, it is vital that teams adjust to the changes quickly in order for the results to come in thick and fast.

Four times World Champion Sebastian Vettel is joined by new team mate Daniel Ricciardo next season. Ricciardo has stepped up from sister team Toro Rosso. But don't expect the young Aussie to play nicely with the current World Champion, Ricciardo is ready for the new challenge ahead
and is ready to fight for his first Grand Prix win.

Project Formula

So as you all know, Fan Formula is having a bit of a make over. The reigns are being handed over as the lovely creator Grace (@GraceF1Fanatic) can no longer fulfil the Fan Formula due to her busy careers.
As a passionate and enthusiastic user of the Fan Formula and a member of the Fan Formula family, I've decided that I would love to keep Fan Formula alive as it is something that we all love and more importantly love taking part in.

I have taking this chance to rebrand the Fan Formula to Project Formula. This is because I don't want to take the credit for anything that Grace has done. She has done an absolutely amazing job over the past 2 years with Fan Formula and wouldn't want to steal that light from herself.
Project Formula will still have the same concept as the Fan Formula, but obviously if I don't deliver the goods like Grace did then you can't give Fan Formula a bad name. Well I'm hoping this won't be the case.

After each race weekend I will post up the questions via the official twitter page @ProjectFormula and you will have until the Wednesday of the following week to get your entries into me.
Video entries can be uploaded to your YouTube accounts but can you email them to me via www.wetransfer.com The email address you need to send them to is projectformula@hotmail.com

You can tweet in your written answers in to my account @ProjectFormula and use the hashtag #ProjectFormula.

I understand there are so many lovers and users of the Fan Formula but I want to try and keep this going as long as possible and of course make Grace proud.

If you have any questions then please let me know. My twitter account is @AilishCatherine I'd love to hear what you all think.

Don't forget to look out for the questions on Sunday.

I can't wait for ProjectFormula to begin.

In the spotlight: Jules Bianchi

Jules Bianchi has been under the Formula 1 spotlight for a couple of seasons now. Part of the Ferrari young driver progamme, test and reserve driver for the Italian giants during the 2011 season and loaned to Sahara Force India to be their reserve driver during the 2012 season.
Now Jules Bianchi starts the next chapter in his Formula 1 career as he has joined Marussia F1 for the 2013 season. He partners British driver Max Chilton after only securing the race seat in the last pre season testing after Luiz Razia's contract was terminated.

The 2013 Formula 1 season and Bianchi's debut race weekend kicked off down in under in Australia. FP1 saw a strong start for the Frenchman, setting his quickest time of 1.32.263. Finishing ahead of not only his team but both Caterhams as well.
The time he posted was only three tenths slower than the Toro Rosso of Daniel Ricciardo.

FP2 got underway on Friday afternoon and Jules Bianchi again finished ahead of Marussia team mate Max Chilton and both Caterhams of Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde. This time Bianchi was only three tenths off from the time set by the Williams of Valtteri Bottas.

In a rain soddened FP3 Jules Bianchi clocked in a time which left him 14th on the timing sheets ahead of both McLaren's.

Bianchi's debut qualifying session was interrupted due to the heavy showers, but he made sure that didn't stop him, and he out qualified his team and both Caterhams, adding to the already successful weekend.
Jules Bianchi started the Australian Grand Prix 15th on the grid. His first Formula 1 race saw him dominate in the battle at the back of field, topping off a positive weekend for the young Frenchman.

Exciting times lie ahead for Jules Bianchi with Marussia. He's a young, talented, up and coming driver who will be using this Formula 1 season to his full advantage, to show the rest of the grid he has what it takes to make it in the sport.

Malaysia is next up on the Formula 1 calendar. Can Jules Bianchi and Marussia follow up the success from Australia and take it with them to the Sepang International Circuit?

#PushTheBoundaries

#pushtheboundaries It is all about the fight, the will power to succeed. If you’re focused and ready for the challenge ahead then you won’t let anybody stand in your way. You will #pushtheboundaries to get there, and once you’ve got there victory tastes oh so sweet.

Formula 1 is a team sport. It is not down to the drivers’ to produce the goods, it is a team effort. Blood, sweat, tears and a bit of elbow grease. Well, a lot of elbow grease forms a great team. You don’t win three constructors championships and three world drivers’ championships in a row, by being lucky. Hard work and dedication makes the team grow, succeed and become a part of sporting history. Red Bull Racing are going into their ninth season in Formula 1 and are hoping to grab the bull by the horns (sorry, it had to be said) again to make it four constructors and drivers’ championships on the bounce, with the launch of the RB9 on Sunday 3rd February 2013.
